Net Promoter News 8 Aug 2017: Satmetrix, co-owner of the NPS(R) trademark and long-time NPS solution provider has shuttered, reportedly merging with publicly traded NICE Ltd (Nasdaq: NCE).  The news was silently broken first by an announcement by former CEO Richard Owen on LinkedIn, with an announcement on the Satmetrix website announcing the news.

Satmetrix Systems Inc was one of the co-developers of the Net Promoter Score® and an early cloud-based customer experience management (CEM) software provider. Satmetrix was formerly known as CustomerCast, Inc. and was founded in 1997 and is based in San Mateo, California. In July 2017, CEO Richard Owen announced that Satmetrix will be joining the NICE Ltd family, an Israel-based publicly traded software company. Some of NICE Ltd.’s product offerings include Financial crime solutions, Security and public safety solutions and Customer Experience Management. According to the Satmetrix statement, the acquisition is a perfect fit to their existing strategy and product roadmap.

Satmetrix reassured its customers business will continue as usual, with the lead of the company now passed to NICE Ltd. There was no news of redundancies although Owens wrote on his LinkedIn post that "some talented individuals were displaced and are now looking for their next opportunity”.

It’s unclear about the future of the Satmetrix NPX platform, support arrangements for existing customers, or any data governance issues with the transition to Israeli-based NICE Ltd.
